What are the summer academies?

Our summer academies are a key component of our program to ensure that all Thrive Scholars are truly ready to thrive in college and in their careers.

Summer Academies are intensive academic enrichment programs that take place during the summer on a university campus. Some academies are residential, where students live on a college campus in the dorms. Others are commuter or day programs, where students attend class on a local college campus but still live at home for the duration of the program.

During the academies, scholars will:

Intensive writing and math courses taught by experienced college instructors
Participate in mock admissions workshops
Complete a personal statement
Work on building their personal brand
Practice career networking and mock interviews
Attend a college fair and interact with admissions officers
Build their list of best-fit colleges
Meet other high-achieving scholars focused on their futures!
