NOTE: If you are applying to the 6-Year Program or the Thrive Academies Program, you will have the option to apply to both programs. It is the same application, so you will only need to fill it out once.
6-Year Program
Minimum Eligibility

You are in 11th grade in a high school in the U.S.

You identify as an underrepresented student, including first generation college goers, students of color, and students from under-resourced communities

Your unweighted GPA is 3.6+

Your family income does not exceed $125,000 annually
Thrive Academies
Minimum Eligibility

You are in 11th grade in a high school in the Chicago, Los Angeles or New York City metropolitan areas

You identify as an underrepresented student, including first generation college goers, students of color, and students from under-resourced communities

Your unweighted GPA is 3.6+

Your family income does not exceed $125,000 annually
2024 - 2025 Application Timeline
Below is an overview of the main stages of the Thrive Scholars application process.
Application Deadline
15 DECEMBER 2024 - We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to work on the application as it requires obtaining your transcript, writing an essay, answering short questions, and providing us with some information you may need to get from your parents/guardians.
Round 2 Advancement
Mid-JANUARY - Thrive Scholars conducts an initial review of the applications and selects some applicants to move forward with Round 2 of the application process. You will be notified if your application was advanced in early January.
Round 2 Application Period
Late JANUARY - Applicants will have 2 weeks to complete the Round 2 application. You will provide us with an updated transcript with your fall semester grades and tax/employment documentation from your parents/guardians to verify your 2023 household income. You will also record answers to several questions on our interview platform!
Decision Release
Mid-MARCH - The moment you have been waiting for! We send out decision letters via email, so be sure to check your email accounts every day in mid-March!
Acceptance Period
Late MARCH - If you are admitted into one of our programs, you will have one week to accept your offer. During this week, we hold information sessions for students and parents to be sure all of your questions are answered. To accept your offer, you simply sign the acceptance agreement (included in your admissions letter) confirming your commitment to the program.
Program Onboarding
APRIL - JUNE - Now the fun part! Our team will bring you engaging onboarding programming to be sure you start your summer academy experience ready to go! You will meet your classmates, make friends, and build community! You will also participate in self-exploration activities which will continue during your time with Thrive.
Summer Academy
Late JUNE - Get ready for one of the most transformative experiences of your life! The Thrive Scholars summer academies are a key component of all of our programs because, put simply, they work. You will dive in to college-level academics, tour colleges, explore careers, all while having fun and becoming a part of a community that will have your back for life.
