What are the summer academies?
Our summer academies are a key component of our program to ensure that all Thrive Scholars are truly ready to thrive in college and in their careers.
Academies are intensive 6-week academic preparation programs that take place during the summer on a university campus. Some academies are residential, where students live on a college campus in the dorms. Others are commuter or day programs, where students attend class on a local college campus but still live at home for the duration of the program.
During the academies, scholars:

Take college-level writing and math courses

Participate in mock admissions workshops

Complete a college essay intensive

Work on building their personal brand

Practice career networking and mock interviews

Attend a college fair and interact with admissions officers

Build their list of best-fit colleges to apply to
